About
Megan Spence, PsyD, PMH-C
Hi! I am Dr. Spence (she/her), a licensed clinical psychologist, supervisor, and founder of Cultivate Together Psychology. A consumer of therapy myself, I have a deep appreciation and respect for those who seek mental health care, and am honored that you have visited my website.

I specialize in helping adults and couples heal from pain and navigate stressors. I am a San Francisco Bay Area native, and have spent the vast majority of my career serving the diverse populations within this wonderful area of the country. The daughter of a retired nurse and a former prison educator, public service is part of my DNA, and I believe I was meant to be a psychologist long before I received formal training. As a white, cisgender woman I strive to remain culturally humble, and have sought out learning opportunities and committee work in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout my career.

I have worked and trained in various levels of women's healthcare, including: outpatient OBGYN clinics, the NICU setting, primary care, and an inpatient psychiatric ward. I worked in OBGYN and Primary Care at the start and height of the COVID19 pandemic, when I also became a parent. I understand the unique challenges of parenting during this time in history while also juggling a career and marriage. I also understand the unique challenges that healthcare providers face, and enjoy supporting medical heroes who are suffering from vicarious trauma.
My clients describe me as authentic, direct, empathic, and gently challenging. I am not a therapist who only sits back and listens- I will first work to understand you deeply, and then walk alongside and collaborate with you to find sustainable ways to address whatever challenges you are facing. I pull from my creative background to tailor treatments that are unique to each individual I work with, bringing in multiple theories and interventions to meet you right where you are.
